Pressure transmitter with separating diaphragm

The sensors are designed to measure relative pressure. The main areas where they are used are the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, medical technology, electroplating, testing equipment, general pressure measurements, and the food and beverage industry.

Function: Changing the measured pressure will cause the sensor diaphragm to deflect. This change is converted to a 4-20 mA output signal.

This type of pressure sensor is used to measure the pressure of liquids and gases in cases where it is not permissible for the measured medium to enter the measuring device of the meter.

Use of pressure transmitter with separating diaphragm:

  • highly viscous liquids
  • solid particles, sedimenting sludges
  • hot liquids that solidify or crystallize when the temperature drops
  • aggressive liquids
  • in cases where there are strict requirements for perfect cleaning and sanitation of the system

The given concept consists in the use of a separating membrane and an inert liquid, which transmits the pressure to the measuring device of the pressure sensor.

Membrane separators

Membrane separators are designed for applications in which the operating medium must not come into contact with the meter (eg due to contamination, presence of solid particles, viscosity, etc.)

They are designed with an emphasis on longevity and extreme operating conditions. Separators are designed for the food and beverage industry and wherever the emphasis is on thorough sanitation and cleaning. Diaphragm-separated pressure transmitters can also be used in operations where vibrations or pulsating pressures occur.

Technical data of the membrane separator:

  • Separation diaphragm material: AISI 316L (1.4404), Ra≤0,8 µm

  • CLAMP separator body material: AISI 304 (1.4301)

  • Operating temperature: -45 ° C to +150 ° C

  • Diaphragm designed for pressure range: 0–60 bar

Use:

  • Light industry
  • Medical devices
  • Regulation of pressure processes
  • Hydraulic and air pressure systems
  • Cooling, air conditioning
  • Compressors
  • Food and beverage industry
