Membrane separators, CLAMP DIN 32676
Separation diaphragms are used in combination with suitable manometers and pressure sensors. Separators are designed for applications in which the operating medium must not come into contact with the meter (eg due to contamination, presence of solid particles, viscosity, etc.). The outer side of the separating membrane is in contact with the medium whose pressure we are measuring.
They are designed with an emphasis on longevity and extreme operating conditions. Separators are designed for the food and beverage industry and wherever the emphasis is on thorough sanitation and cleaning of the system. Diaphragm-separated pressure gauges can also be used in operations where vibrations or pulsating pressures occur. The principle consists of the use of a membrane and an inert liquid, which transmits the pressure to the measuring device of the pressure gauge (manometer).

Connection with CLAMP sleeve (mounting bracket) and silicone seal with appropriate CLAMP mating piece. The pressure gauges must be vented using a vent plug.
Technical parameters
- the material of membrane separator: AISI 316L (1.4404), Ra≤0,8 µm
- the material of body CLAMP separator: AISI 304 (1.4301)
- CLAMP connection DIN 32676
- working temperature: –45 °C to +150 °C
- diaphragm designed for pressure range: 0–60 bar
- filling according to application requirements: silicone oil, vegetable (almond) oil
The use of manometers fitted with a separating membrane is common in the following cases
- highly viscous liquids
- solid particles, sedimenting sludges
- hot liquids that solidify or crystallize when the temperature drops
- aggressive liquids
- in cases where there are strict requirements for perfect cleaning and sanitation of the system
- in systems with high shocks that need to be damped
The given concept consists of the use of a separating membrane and an inert liquid, which transmits the pressure to the measuring device of the pressure gauge (manometer) or a pressure sensor.
