O-ring Gasket FKM
O-ring FKM Material Characteristic:
FKM (FPM, Viton®, Fluorel®) is often used for its resistance to extreme temperatures and aggressive chemicals. The strong carbon-fluorine bonds that make up the polymer structure have high thermo-chemical resistance and other excellent properties, such as low compression set at elevated temperatures.
Basic information
FPM (international abbreviation according to DIN-ISO standard)
FKM (abbreviation for fluorinated elastomers according to American standard ASTM)
Viton® (DuPont Performance Elastomer trademark)
O-ring FKM Material Characteristic
FKM (FPM, Viton®, Fluorel®) is often used for its resistance to extreme temperatures and aggressive chemicals. The strong carbon-fluorine bonds that make up the polymer structure have high thermo-chemical resistance and other excellent properties, such as low compression set at elevated temperatures.
FKM offers excellent resistance to mineral oils and fats, aliphatic, aromatic, and some chlorinated hydrocarbons, fuels, silicone oils, and fats. However, FKM exhibits poor resistance to ethers, ketones, esters, and amines.

Temperature Range: -20 to +200°C, temporarily +300°C
- has significantly lower mechanical properties in hot water and steam (medium mechanical strength, low gas permeability)
- FKM O-ring is resistant to temperatures, ozone, weather, aging, acids, mineral, animal and silicone oils and fats, synthetic hydraulic fluids, HFD pressurized fluids, fuels, aromatic hydrocarbons (benzol, toluene), high vacuum, organic solvents, and other chemicals
- not resistant to: polar solvents (acetone, etc.), glycol-based brake fluids, superheated steam, ammonia gas, amine alkali, low molecular weight organic acids (formic, acetic)
Tested and certified in a testing laboratory (you can see the Certificate Attached in categories of goods below)
